Many interviews with Adam Doleac have been known to be very laid back. Instead of presenting himself with a rockstar attitude, he carries himself like a CEO. His down-to-earth presence makes him seem like a friend instead of a rising country music star. With his song “Famous” sitting in Sirius XM The Highway’s Hot 30 Countdown, his two new songs, “Solo” and “Wake Up Beautiful”, are also climbing in popularity.
“I grew up listening to Amos Lee, Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, and all these guys that weren’t country but had cool voices,” he says of his early influences, “The songwriting is what got me in to country. The storytelling that’s involved.”
So as he grows, what is his creative process? He tells that he does now start writing a song until he is half way towards an idea. As he tells it, inspiration can come from anywhere. Like with his new single “Solo.” “At my house in Nashville I have a swing. I lay on it and have coffee pretty much every morning. The apartment complex [next door] is called ‘Solo East’. I kept looking and thinking ‘I’m gonna get to [writing] that one day, and then, eventually, I did.”
The title of the song “Solo” actually stands for Stay Over Lay Over.
In contrast, “Wake Up Beautiful” was a little different. He put more effort in this song to create maximum effect. The song is almost three years old but he wanted to make sure it had the biggest impact as possible.
Adam Doleac aims to set his standards high and sets high goals for himself in order to be successful while still remaining humble.
