It’s official: The Florida Georgia Line and Bebe Rexha hit “Meant to Be” has broken the record for the longest stay at Number One on the “Billboard“ Hot Country Songs chart. It’s been at the top for 35 weeks.
That surpasses the previous record holder, Sam Hunt’s “Body Like A Back Road”, which spent 34 weeks at #1 last year. Ironically, when Sam set that record, he blew past Florida Georgia Line’s “Cruise”, which ruled for 24 weeks in 2012-13.
Tyler Hubbard told “Billboard”, “I’m so honored to be a writer and an artist on this song. I’m thankful to just be one of the many people who put so much energy and effort into making music history.”
