This Is Why Athletes Get In The Game!

A simple gesture by his favorite player left a young hockey fan crying tears of joy.

New York Rangers forward Pavel Buchnevich tossed his hockey stick over the boards to a young fan named Benjamin during warmups before a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday.

It was clearly a moment the boy will never forget.

Benjamin, 12, is part of the Junior Rangers youth hockey organization. He showed up to Madison Square Garden on Wednesday wearing a Buchnevich jersey.

After wiping away his happy tears, he composed himself to get a picture with Buchnevich. He also caught up with him after the game in the locker room.

What likely caught Buchnevich’s eye was that Benjamin was wearing a special Severstal Cherepovets’ sweater, a Russian club the left winger played for before he was picked up by the Rangers. This was special because his grandfather bought him the sweater and he wanted Buchnevitch to see him wearing it, I think it worked!
