Luke Bryan’ can help his friends make some quick cash. All he has to do is tell them how long his National Anthem will last at Sunday’s Super Bowl and then they can put down their hard-earned money on a prop bet.

He’s not going do it, though, because that’s wrong. He talked about it at yesterday’s Super Bowl press conference.

“A friend called and [said], ‘You going long?’ I said, ‘What’re you talking about?’ And he goes, ‘On the anthem. Are you going long?’ I’m like, ‘Oh, come on.’”

He did mention that the song is usually a little over two minutes long, but his timing will depend on how nervous he gets. “There’s no telling how long it may go.

“I’m gonna walk out there and follow my heart and follow the vibe of the room. I may get out there and go, ‘I’m about to pass out. I need to get this thing over quick.’ Or, I may get out and feel good in the moment and try to milk it a little bit.”

Here’s something that may make a difference. He’s going to sing it a cappella, meaning there won’t be a band or orchestra to slow him down…or speed him up?

By the way, remember when he caught flak for using his hand as a cheat sheet while singing the National Anthem at the 2012 MLB All-Star Game? For what it’s worth, that version came in right around, you guessed it, two minutes.

I haven’t seen this bet anywhere, but if someone’s offering odds on Luke popping a cold one right after singing the anthem, take it. He said, “I’m gonna drink a beer really, really fast…and start enjoying football.”

As far as the actual game? Well, Luke’s from Georgia so he has a favorite. “Every year, people ask me, ‘Who are you pulling for?’ I’d dodge the question to stay neutral. But I gotta step out there and say I’m pulling for my Falcons this year.”
