Jimmy Buffett and Mac McNally recently wrote Caroline Jones’ new song “Gulf Coast Girl”. The song was written specifically for the new artist as she gets her start. The song also includes Kenny Chesney and Lukas Nelson.
The music video shows Jones traveling through several gulf coast towns including Mobile, Destin, Pensacola, St. Petersburg, Tampa, Biloxi, Galveston, New Orleans, and more. The Chesney and Nelson are heard throughout the song, but they are not seen in the video.
“I am so honored to sing this song that two of my heroes, mentors and friends — Jimmy Buffett and Mac McAnally — wrote for me.”
She went on tour with Jimmy Buffett last year and was recently on a tour with Kenny Chesney. The two artists took her under their wings to help her get started. In a statement, Buffett added: “My introduction to Caroline was at a benefit concert we were doing a few years back in Tallahassee after Hurricane Irma wreaked havoc on Florida. I had heard really good things about her, from friends, but was taken aback when I watched her open the show.”
Buffett and McNally wanted to create a ‘feel good’ summer song for Caroline to record that would make people on beaches and lakes across the country all feel the same way.
Jones is currently on tour with Zac Brown Band.
