Jake Owen will be acting in his first feature film in the upcoming movie The Friend.
According to CMT, The Friend is based on Matthew Teague’s award-winning essay for Esquire, “The Friend: Love is Not a Big Enough Word.” The essay is about Teague’s terminally ill wife and how his best friend helps their family.
Owen is part of a cast which includes How I Met Your Mother actor Jason Segel, Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson and Manchester by the Sea actor Casey Affleck.
The movie release date is not yet known.
