Do you ever think about the Route 91 tragedy when you go to an outdoor concert? The performers certainly do. Erich Church opened up about it last week in his “Rolling Stone” interview.
Now Jake Owen told CMT that it’s on his mind before every concert. Jake said he looks around the venue and wonders, “What if?”
“I’lI walk in and [think] . . . ‘There are a lot of people here, and there are rooftops all around us.’ No matter what we do, someone can create their own world of destruction.”
But he’s not going to let any of that stop him from doing the best show he can. He owes it to his fans. Quote, “These people are here to have a good time and it’s up to us to give it to them and not be scared. So that’s what we’ve done since then.”
He also feels like the tragedy forged a “special bond” between country artists and their fans.
“We’ll never forget the way it felt and how that night changed our perception of the way we appreciate our freedom.”
