After all the devastation we’ve seen over the last few weeks, at some point you have to start to grow, move on, and maybe even laugh. That’s why Caleb Budde decided to make his homecoming proposal very memorable for Casey Smoot. When Hurricane Harvey hit Caleb’s neighborhood, he saw 3 feet of water flood his home, and same goes for Casey. So Caleb came up with a little bit of a dark humored poem that he got approved by Casey’s mom. He didn’t want to make her cry! It read:

Roses are red

Violets are blue

Your home flooded, mine did too

Could I go to Homecoming with you?

Of course Casey said yes!
