When Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, celebrity chef Jose Andres knew he had to do something! Immediately, he got to cooking up meals for survivors! When the complete devastation became clear after Maria, Jose hopped a flight to Puerto Rico and has been there over 9 days now! Jose took a crew from his nonprofit – World Central Kitchen and some days they cook up and hand out over 45,000 meals. It breaks down to ten thousand sandwiches, ten thousand chicken with rice dishes, paella, hot dogs and burgers! Jose isn’t stopping there! He plans on trying to hit 100,000 meals daily by the end of the week.
