This is the best kind of tradition a football team can start!
A children’s hospital has recently been opened over looking Kinnick Stadium which is home to the Iowa Hawkeyes football team. These kids are facing cancer, terminal illnesses, autoimmune disorders, and everything a child should never have to deal with. One perk is they get to look out into a sea of black and gold with their view. They probably have some of the best seats when it comes to game day. Once football season kicked into gear, the sweetest tradition started up. After the first quarter, the Hawkeyes and everyone in the stands (we’re talking 70,000 people) stand up, wave, and cheer on these little fighters for about 15 minutes. It’s called the Hawkeye wave and parents said it helps these kids get through the day.
