Usually, when cops show up at your door, you’re a little nervous. This time around they showed up to pay a huge favor for a 94-year-old woman in Hurricane Irma’s path last week.
Rachel Copeland saw the track that Hurricane Irma was on and was pretty worried about her 94-year-old grandmother, Betty Helmuth in Clearwater, FL. She wrote to the Clearwater Police Department’s Facebook page asking them for advice on how to hurricane prep and happened to mention that her grandmother doesn’t drive anymore. The Clearwater Police Department went above and beyond once they got the message. They showed up at Betty’s door and brought her supplies.
Betty was shocked and so incredibly thankful for all these heroes coming to her aid!
