While details are unknown at this time, it has been confirmed that Troy Gentry, half of the popular country duo, Montgomery Gentry, was tragically killed in a helicopter crash which took place at approximately 1:00pm today in Medford, New Jersey. The duo was scheduled to perform tonight at the Flying W Airport & Resort in Medford. Troy Gentry was 50 years old.
There’s another loss in the country world as well. Country Music icon Don Williams has passed away following a short illness. He was 78 years old. In a career that spanned more than four decades, Williams released dozens of studio albums and charted more than 20 No. 1 songs. Some of his most well-known hits include “Tulsa Time,” “She Never Knew Me” and “It Must Be Love.” Don received the ultimate honor in 2010 when he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Funeral arrangements were not immediately announced.
Horrible. My thoughts are with his family. https://t.co/4Lw3anuLIm
