Jury duty is usually a dull affair with lots of sitting around and waiting and waiting and waiting some more. But imagine reporting for jury duty only to find that one of the most famous women in music was there right along with you.
That’s just what happened this morning for some likely really surprised potential jurors who showed up to the courthouse in Nashville this morning, 8/29, and found Taylor Swift was also there to do her civic duty.
Taylor posed for pictures with several of her fellow jury candidates and the snaps made their way around social media later in the morning.
Taylor, who seemed to be having a pretty dang good time by the looks of things, ended upbeing dismissed from the case after telling the judge that she couldn’t be impartial in the aggravated rape/kidnapping trial due to her ongoing civil case that also involves sexual assault.
Taylor is currently in a legal battle with David Mueller, a former KYGO radio host who was fired after Swift accused him of groping her during a meet & greet. Mueller claims the accusation is false and is suing her for getting him fired. He is also suing her for slander. Taylor has a countersuit against Mueller for assault and battery. Her lawsuit states that he “intentionally reached under her skirt, and groped with his hand an intimate part of her body in an inappropriate manner, against her will, and without her permission. Mueller did not merely brush his hand against Ms. Swift while posing for the photograph: he lifted her skirt and groped her.”
Taylor has requested a jury trial and says that any money she is awarded will go to charities that are “dedicated to protecting women from similar acts of sexual assault and personal disregard.”
The case is still ongoing.
